The Cabo Frio coast is known as the Brazilian Caribbean, thanks to its crystal-clear waters that bathe this shoreline. Another striking feature is the sea temperature, which, between spring and summer—especially in September—can reach 20.3ºC.

This drop in temperature is caused by the steep geomorphological position of the continental shelf, triggering the upwelling of cold, deep Atlantic waters, along with the region’s wind patterns. These unique conditions create an ideal environment for thriving marine life.
