Although not as famous as the Cagarras and Tijucas islands, Cotunduba Island has its charm, mainly for its location. On the way to the island you will see one of the most famous icons of Rio de Janeiro from another angle. During the tour you will navigate around the beautiful neighborhood of Urca with its Cassino, the São João (Saint John) Fort, São João (Saint John) Beach, and Cara de Cão (Dog Face) hill, better known as the Sugarloaf Mountain, which is impressive when seen from the sea.
Once at Cotunduba Island it’s possible to appreciate one of the most beautiful scenes of the city from the sea: the harmony between Christ the Redeemer over Morro do Corcovado, Morro da Urca and the Sugarloaf with its cable cars going up and down.

Many people have seen it but still don’t know that it’s possible to go to the small archipelago of the Tijucas Islands in the heart of the Marvelous City.
This little paradise is formed by three islands: Meio (middle), which is closest to São Conrado; Pontuda (pointed), the highest that has a lighthouse, and Alfavaca, the best spot for diving. There is also a small reef called Tijucas used by divers, but difficult to anchor. This set of islands stay between Barra da Tijuca and São Conrado, almost 1.2 miles from the Joatinga channel and 3 miles from Guanabara Bay, from where the boat departs. This little paradise deserves some time for contemplation. It has crystal-clear waters, rocky walls, an exuberant nature, is perfect for diving, sunbathing and relaxing while enjoying a delicious on board service with the city’s silhouette afar.
